ABOUT JENNIE
Jennie Monness is a NYC - based parent and child educator. She is the co-founder of a parent-child haven called Union Square Play, a parenting community and playspace with locations in the tri state area.
Jennie began her career in early childhood 15 years ago after receiving her Master’s Degree in Psychology in Education from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. After working as an early childhood teacher in day care and preschool settings, spending her days with infants and toddlers. She became the Education and Center Director of several programs which lead to her the RIE Educaring Approach, an approach she is currently becoming certified in. Today, Jennie uses her decades worth of knowledge and experience in early childhood education to educate and empower parents all over the world. She has appeared on Good Morning America and the Today Show, been featured in publications including New York Magazine, Parents, Poosh, Forbes, The Bump and Katie Couric. She teaches workshops, speaks on panels, and leads classes at companies and institutions ranging from Uber to Magen David Yeshiva while using her social media platform to provide information that new parents deeply need.
Jennie lives in New York City with her husband, Matt, and her two daughters, Tess age 6 and Nell age 4.
